Sweep
(Open guard, with gi)

A Technique from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Courtesy bjjfighter.com

These techniques should only be practiced with the supervision of an experienced instructor.
Practicing the moves incorrectly could result in serious bodily injury or death.

My opponent begins by standing in my open guard.
I attempt to setup the previous sweep, however my opponent defends by basing out very wide with his left leg.
I counter his defense by leaning to my left side, and switching my legs. Now my right foot is on his hip and my left foot is hooking his left leg.
To complete the sweep I pull forward on his foot and sleeve, at the same time I push my right leg outward as my left leg kicks out his left leg.
Once I have swept him over I use the momentum of the sweep to quickly get up and walk my right leg over his guard.
I switch my grip on his sleeve and secure the knee on stomach position.
