Scissor sweep
(Guard, with gi)

A Technique from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Courtesy bjjfighter.com

These techniques should only be practiced with the supervision of an experienced instructor.
Practicing the moves incorrectly could result in serious bodily injury or death.

I begin with my opponent in my closed guard. First I place my right hand deep in the collar. My opponent places his right hand on my left arm to avoid the collar choke.

Next, I grab hold of my opponent's right sleeve with my left hand and open my guard placing my right shin across his belly and my left leg outside his right leg.
I pull my opponent towards me to upset his base. Then I simultaneously kick my right leg outward and left leg inward.
This action sweeps my opponent onto his back.
I complete the sweep by following through to the mount position.
